What the first hour actually gives you
A new character is pointed at a scripted opening: chests, one Mana Crystal, three spins, and a quest chain around the starting village. Recorded launches spawn you facing the Grimoire Tower with a normal chest. That chest opened into a medium chest, and the medium chest produced the first Mana Crystal. Treat that chain as the usual opening from launch recordings, not as a rule printed by the developer. The compass still marks the tower with an icon and a distance if your spawn looks different.
The village is Hage. Some builds render the name as Haga or Ragi. The church, Hage Priest, merchant, fish seller, crafting bench, furnace, Finral, and Nero are all a short walk apart.
Do these five things in order
- Open the chests you spawn with and take the Mana Crystal.
- Spend that crystal at the tower rolling area. Wait for the book animation, then equip the Grimoire from your inventory and test the moves somewhere safe. Earth is a common first pull.
- Talk to the Hage Priest in the church and spend your three starting spins: one Race, one Social Class, one Trait. The same menu is Menu, Customize, Rolls.
- Clear the starter quests. Press E to turn a quest in, then E again if you want to repeat it.
- Find Nero for the double jump, get a broom, set a spawn crystal, and stop spending crystals until you know which book you want.
Starter quests
The tracker moves on its own when you hit the next quest's level. A golden-door arrow marks the current target. If you lose it, Profile, Missions and NPCs can pin a quest for your level.
- Four potatoes. The game hands you a Rake. Press E beside grown plants. A recorded run hit level 2 immediately. Haj Bandits around the village also drop two potatoes each.
- Firewood. Switch to the Axe. Bigger trees have more HP and drop more logs. Fallen logs disappear, so pick them up quickly.
- Five ores. Mining uses E, not the mouse button.
- Combat. One run hunted six forest boars. Tony's potato-thief fight is the early bandit quest and, in one recording, paid a medium chest that contained a Magic Broom. Sister Lily's quest opens at level 3.
Potatoes, wood, and ore stay in your inventory. Do not sell potatoes or crystal mana fragments. Both go into the Mana Crystal craft.
What to keep from the first three spins
You will almost certainly roll Human (displayed about 94.70%) and Peasant or Commoner. That is fine for the first quests. Merchant is the early class worth keeping if money matters, because its +10% Yuls beats Noble's +7.5% Yuls. Fast Learner (+10% EXP) and Coin Eye (+5% Yuls) are the useful early traits. Devil, Sovereign, and Chosen One are the long-term targets, and their displayed chances are well under 1%. Do not burn every later spin on the first night.
Nero, the broom, and spawn crystals
Nero stands near Finral. The training is three timing minigames: sit-ups and push-ups, crunch holds, and jumping jacks that speed up. Clearing it grants a double jump and stat boosts. One recording also got a bonus Mana Crystal. It is doable around level 5 to 10 and often missing from the tracker, so look for Nero or open the profile quest list.
Summon the broom with H, or D-pad up on console. Click to mount and hold Shift to boost. Flight spends mana, and boosting spends it faster. New characters sometimes need a few Mana points before flight feels usable. Recorded ways to get a broom include a broom-balance mission, Tony's bandit chest, and mission rewards. Any of those counts.
Every area has a spawn crystal. Set your spawn and leave nearest-spawn on, so a death far from home does not walk you back from Hage. Finral teleports between areas for a recorded fee around 1,100 Yuls. The broom covers that trip for free. An approximately 80 Robux teleport pass removes the fee. You do not need it to progress.
After the first session
Claim playtime rewards before you log off. Open Inventory and look at the Index: discoveries pay spins and, later, Mana Crystals. Repeat potato and bandit quests when you need levels. Save crystals for a book you have already decided to chase. The tower shows pity at Epic 35, Legendary 70, and Mythical 175.
Mistakes that waste the opening
- Leaving Hage before you have used the Priest, the bench, and the Index.
- Putting Anti-Magic points into Strength. Power is the documented unlock stat.
- Selling potatoes or crystal mana fragments.
- Paying Finral for a route the broom already flies.
- Buying multi-chest, skip-animation, or private-server passes just to start.
- Assuming a weapon with no visible moves is finished. Launch showcases of the Iron Sword, Iron Scythe, and one fire book looked stat-gated rather than empty forever.
