What a crystal is for
A Mana Crystal is one Grimoire roll at the tower. Players also call the same item crystal mana or a shard of pure mana. Spins are a different item.
The filmed recipe
At the Hage crafting bench, open Materials and craft Mana Crystal. The recipe filmed end to end is 5 potatoes plus 10 crystal mana fragments, finishing in about 20 seconds. The bench lists ingredients before you start, so if your menu disagrees, trust the menu. An earlier note said counts differed between recordings.
The bench sits to the right of the set-spawn crystal near the church. The furnace is next to the church and smelts ores into refined sulfur, metal bars, stone bricks, and coal. The blacksmith crafts the chest-puzzle skip and the item that forces the giant chest boss.
Potatoes
Harvest field plots with the Rake from the first quest. Press E. Haj Bandits around Hage drop two potatoes per kill. Do not vendor them.
Fragments
- Fish the Golden Marlin. Bring a rod and uncommon bait. Luck and easier-fishing potions are the documented helpers.
- Open medium and large chests. A chest opened on camera contained fragments. One Chain Bandit chest held crystal mana frags, and another held stone ore, a stamina potion, and raw meat. Chest contents are not fixed.
- Pick up map spawns.
- Codes sometimes pay whole crystals instead of fragments. Redeem those before you craft.
Other whole crystals
- Inventory, Index: 1 spin at 5 discoveries, 5 Mana Crystals at 40, and 15 at 75. Claim them. They do not apply themselves.
- The weekly reward track includes a Mana Crystal.
- Some quests pay a crystal directly. The Asta training mission is one cited example. Nero's training paid a bonus crystal in at least one recording.
- Profile Guide objectives. A big chest was reported near level 50.
- AFK World can bank crystals while you are idle. Spins from that zone are still spins, not tower rolls.
What to craft after crystals
The same bench has weapons (a sword, a stone sword variant, a shotgun, and a rifle), a fishing rod, glow lights, an iron helmet described as heavy iron plate, and potions. Potion recipes unlock with level. A level 13 tester still had Stamina Potion level 2 locked. One sword upgrade on the menu cost 55 wood. Empty tabs fill in later, so recheck armor as you level.
Quest junk such as collector batons can be recycled. It is not dead inventory.
